Carlitos and his mother fled horrific violence in their home country and sought asylum in the United States. Instead, Carlitos was separated from his mother at the border and placed in government detention. We intervened. We got him out and back into his mother's arms.

ICE is deliberately targeting and deporting children in detention seeking asylum.

They take these children in the middle of the night and send them back to the countries from which they fled.

That's what almost happened to 7-year-old Carlitos*. Instead, we intervened, and after just 2 weeks in detention, he was released and was able to hug his mom once again.
