Each Step Home is an organization dedicated to getting migrant children out of detention and reuniting them with their families.
We empower families by providing critical resources, connecting them with their children, assisting with access to treatment, and helping with difficult decisions about immigration, sponsorship, and care. We do whatever is necessary to get children released from government custody and into safe, loving homes and communities.

Pascual
Age 9
The government attempted to terminate Pascual’s parents’ rights and put Pascual up for adoption. We stepped in. We spent thousands of dollars and worked countless hours fighting for Pascual, and we’re pleased to report that we succeeded. He was reunited with his parents!
Santiago
Age 15
A hard-won success! Santiago*, who caught COVID in detention, has been released.
Baby Omar
Age 0
Baby Omar* was born an American citizen. It was illegal to hold him in immigration custody. Yet he and his family were forcibly held for over 72 hours. We fought for them and got them out.
