Gabriela came to our border pregnant and begging for asylum. After she gave birth, she was separated from her baby and placed in government detention.
We partnered with Texas Civil Rights Project to help get Gabriela out of detention, and reunite her with her newborn baby and family in the United States.

Gabriela came to our border pregnant and begging for asylum. After she gave birth, she was separated from her baby and taken back to detention. The baby, a U.S. citizen, remained in the hospital.
As soon as we heard, we jumped to find her and her family attorneys at the Texas Civil Rights Project, and that same day, the Gabriela was released into the U.S. with her husband and 6-year-old. She immediately went to the hospital to visit her baby.
